What is a job hazard analysis?
One of the most effective tools in the chest used to prevent workplace injuries is the Job Hazard Analysis, also known as a Job Safety Analysis (JSA). This course presents some very effective strategies in increasing the JSA’s effectiveness.
Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Training
In this 45-minute program, we look at the Job Safety Analysis process, which is about systematically looking at each step of a specific job to help identify, assess and document all the hazards associated with that particular job. Then looking for ways to apply appropriate controls, ensuring that no one gets injured or killed while performing that task.
Upon successful completion of this program, participants should:
- Know the definition of a hazard
- Recognize the JSA process as a very effective part of the Risk Management System
- Be familiar with the terms associated with a Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Understand the importance of the Job Safety Analysis
- Know when a JSA should be used
- Know how properly complete the JSA process effectively
- Identify who should participate in completing the JSA
- Be familiar with effective strategies of mitigating hazards using the Hierarchy of Controls
- Recognize the JSA’s investigative value once an incident/accident has occurred
